Holmes Place Greece offers its members an all-inclusive service of dietary monitoring in collaboration with , the highly esteemed chain of Dietetic Offices for Behaviour Modification and Weight Control. The nutri med network of offices was founded in 1995, by Clinical Dietician-Nutritionist Mr. Anastasios Papalazarou.
Nutrition Center by offers a comprehensive approach in the subject of nutritional regime, using the message: "eat well-live well", which focuses on the person and the idiosyncrasies that characterize him/ her. The modern approach in the battle against obesity does not prompt in the strict following of low calorie diets, but in the modification of dietary behaviour. It is not enough for someone to follow a diet, even if the diet is properly structured, if his/ her eating habits remain bad.
The Nutrition Center by approach:
In Nutrition Center we educate the customer-member in 5 basic techniques. These techniques constitute the foundation for a successful result (besides weight loss and maintenance of the reduced weight) and are the following:
- Nutritional Education:
In our days just going on a diet, even a properly structured one, cannot be considered effective, since it contributes in fast weight loss but simultaneously in the equally or even faster regaining of the lost weight, which often leads to the gradual deceleration of the metabolism. It is very important for someone who wishes to lose weight and maintain the result, to know what makes him/ her gain weight. In other words he/ she must become part of the problem's solution and not expect the solution solely by others.
- Control of Stimulus:
Knowing, however, what we eat is not enough. The important thing is to go beyond that. The value of being able to control our food portion, being careful when we go shopping, not being tempted by the attractive smells of sweets, constitutes another important factor of the program.
- Dietary Behaviour:
A simple way to control the food stimulus is to organise our behaviour and to predefine what we are going to eat, for example, at a party buffet. The correct Dietary Behaviour greatly contributes in changing our behaviour and our way of life in general.
- Monitoring of Physical Activity:
The importance of regular exercise in weight control is well known and, therefore, the dietician's collaboration with the trainer is essential to the creation of the most suitable, individualised program of exercise and nutrition to guarantee the best possible results.
- Avoidance of Relapse:
All the above will be worthless if we give up at the first difficulty we are faced with and fall back to our old, bad habits. By avoiding relapse, in a sense we "lock" our success, ensuring in a way, good results that are also long-lasting.
During your first visit, after selecting a dietary program, a fat measurement will be performed by the Dietician, as well as, a precise measurement of your basic metabolism, which plays an important role in composing an individualised diet, for best results.
